DPM 2019 officially supports Windows Server 2012 & Windows Server 2012 R2

When System Center Data Protection Manager (DPM) 2019 came out, there was no official statement whether Windows Server 2012 / Windows Server 2012 R2 would be supported or not.

As Windows Server 2008 R2 has it’s end-of life closing in, many users or customers have either started or already upgraded their servers to a newer operating system like Windows Server 2012, Windows Server 2012 R2 or newer.

When DPM 2019 came out there were a lot of questions raised in the communities, because there was no official information on whether DPM 2019 would support Windows Server 2012 / Windows Server 2012 R2 or not, as the official documentation on the Microsoft Docs page didn’t have these two operating systems listed as supported.

I’m glad to say that DPM 2019 can be used for backing up workloads running on the Windows Server 2012 & Windows Server 2012 R2 operating systems, this is now official.
